Pull Out Kitchen Faucet
Installing a pull out kitchen faucet is an easy do it yourself project. Although for some of the steps below, you will want to have the assistance of an additional person. The materials needed to complete this project include the faucet, a screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, a basin wrench, plumber’s tape, measuring tape and caulking. The first thing you will want to do is turn off the hot and cold water valves under the sink. Turn the faucet on to test whether the water still runs out at this point. If water flows out, then shut off the main water valve. Place a small bucket under the valves. Then, loosen the nuts that are connecting the water supply lines to the valves. Use the adjustable wrench for this task.

"Maybe we have strong water pressure. I don't know. I tried this faucet for 8 months and last weekend my DH ripped it out for me. Yes, it worked just fine. But every evening when I cleaned up the kitchen, I walked away with water all over the front of my clothes from this thing splashing water. It was on me. Behind the sink. On the side of the counter (where the sink meets counter). I was tired of it. Water everywhere.
So we took it out and put in an American Standard Fairbury. No more splashing. My clothes are dry when I clean the kitchen. The counter is dry. The water only goes in the sink where it belongs. I no longer get sprayed when I put a dish or bowl under the stream of water.
Sorry Kohler. We won't be back.

"This faucet looks and feels high quality. On the nozzle, it has a little button to switch from spray to normal as well as one that will stop the flow temporarily while you hold it (for say, filling something up that is sitting on the counter without having to use your other hand to stop the water at the handle). The spray is powerful and rinses food and such off effectively.
I would recommend getting the set with the soap dispensing pump in it together if you want that option as buying it separately in the vibrant stainless color is very expensive." – aglowucannotsee

"I have installed now 5 of these in kitchens for rental units and private use only. I have nothing bad to say except for the hot and cold control button on top of the head. The color coding fades very quickly. Along the joint of faucet body and hose assembles hard water and other residue easily and is a bit awkward to clean. But a small brush works pretty well. Otherwise I find the faucet to be a true work horse. Nothing to brag about but very functional and attractive." – Susanne Brandt

"Great product and beautiful finish. This a great price for the quality of this faucet." – Stephen A. England Jr.

"First off - If Amazon allowed half stars, I would give this 4.5 stars.
I purchased the Delta Leland faucet for a kitchen remodel. The faucet itself is simple and elegant. The head swivels very easily and the magnetic lock for the pull-out spray is very convenient. The two modes of spray are very easy to use with a switch on the back of the faucet head. The standard mode works very well, though I found that when switched into spray mode, there was a lot of water spatter. Not sure if this is due to the water pressure at our house, or the design of the spray distribution.
The separate handle is very nice and easy to use though the little push-in colored button that shows which direction is hot versus cold, fell off and disappeared down our drain less than a week after the install.
The soap dispenser is a little bit lower than I was expecting when installed - there is little clearance between the pump and your hand - but it is still perfectly functional.
Overall installation was fairly simple (neither my fiance nor I have much plumbing experience)and the design fit our needs. Aside from the low clearance soap dispenser and the hot/cold button falling out, this product is great at a very affordable price. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

"We bought this faucet as a replacement for an old (>15 yr) Moen single handle faucet that did not have a pullout spray. Installation was easy with any one or three hole sink. Our biggest problem was installing the soap dispenser, which was no fault of Delta's but our own (It pays to know exactly how many holes you have in your sink before trying to install everything....). After installation, we have no leaks and the faucet works great! I love the push-button ability to change from stream to spray. Great product, great price." – ljcwalston

"I received this ginormous (gigantic and enormous) beautiful faucet today and installed it myself (with help from a friend to just support the sink while I put the rubber washer and nut on under the sink), with no problems. Once I received the faucet, I had to buy two standard flexible water lines and two fittings to join the water lines together from the local hardware store as the lines provided are fairly short and a different size than normal. The faucet is super-tall, 30", but great for a house with 10' ceilings like mine. It may be too big for 8' ceilings, but that is a matter of choice. I was very impressed with the weight, brushed nickel finish, quality and beauty of the faucet. The sprayer is not plastic but is heavy and appears to be well-made. It has on it both a regular faucet which is plenty long and the sprayer. Now I can wash the largest pan and every corner of the sink. Love it, the quality and the price! I was very surprised and happy to receive it on the earliest proposed delivery date. Wow, am I impressed!" – Winniegirl

"We purchased these with the previous reviews in mind. Our sinks are extra deep, so no splash problem. Stylish and easy to use and install. Danze customer service responded beautifully to our questions. One problem though, every single box we received from Amazon had the factory seal broken in the first shipment (we purchased three.)" – mammamia

"This is the first review of the many products I have purchased over the internet that I have submitted. The reason is that I am extremely impressed with the the mechanics of the Touch 2O technology and the appearance of the Pilar faucet. A mere touch anywhere on the faucet will turn the water flow on or off. It's even quite entertaining and makes washing dishes ALMOST pleasant. The directions were clear which made installation by a non-plumber rather easy. In fact, my wife was impressed that my language was quite presentable throughout the entire process. In addition, Delta provides a video on their web site, albeit slightly outdated, which can be very helpful. On the other hand, the removal of the old Moen faucet necessitated my wife to insert ear plugs. Shipping was quick and packaging was excellent. The reason I gave the product 4 instead of 5 stars is that we have only owned it for approximate one month and that additional star will have to wait a bit to determine it's trouble free longevity. If my wife wrote this review, the Pilar faucet would have been given the fifth star." – duffer 2
Next, you will need to loosen the nuts holding the faucets to the sink with a basin wrench. This will enable you to remove the faucet. Next, pull out the supply lines. Assemble your new faucet if it isn’t already assembled. Thread all the hoses through the center hole in the sink rim. From underneath the sink, slide the triangular plastic washer, then the fiber washer, metal washer, and finally the circular nut over the hoses to attach the faucet to the sink. At this point, you should have someone hold the pull out kitchen faucet on top of the sink in an upright position while you use the basin wrench to screw the circular nut on the threads of the faucet stem. Next, clamp the nut to the plastic washer with the screws.
Connect the water supply lines to the valves. Be sure you connect the hot water supply line to the hot water valve and the cold water supply line to the cold water valve. Now, loop the loose end of the spray hose up and connect it to the third line coming from the faucet. You will have to use your adjustable wrench to tighten the nuts connecting the supply line to the shut-off valve.

A pull out kitchen faucet has a weight in the middle of the hose that helps it to retract back into the spout. You will have to measure the spray hose. At 15 inches, fit the weight around the hose and screw it together. Test whether the faucet retracts by pulling it out.
Turn on the hot and cold water valves and check for leaks. Remove the aerator that is at the tip of the faucet’s spray head. Turn on the pull out kitchen faucet to flush the pipes and spout. This prevents any debris that may have been created by the installation of the faucet from getting caught in the aerator. Finally, replace the aerator.
